It's Just Not Fair

Five years ago, we lived adjacent to the seventh fairway of a very nice golf course near Ogden, Utah. Today, course management announced the front nine will be open for play tomorrow.

We now live next to the eighteenth green of a very nice golf course near Plainwell, Michigan. It started snowing once again about an hour ago. Forecasters say we can expect three to seven inches by tomorrow morning, which should make average snow cover on the golf course nearly two feet. Course management has not even thought about an opening date.

Boo hoo.

You poor things. I see that the Great Lakes are frozen. Dianne

Yep. Cabin fever is in full swing. Still, I have a hard time whining about this weather, since I still remember the 30+ snowfalls some years ago that I had to fight through, since I was still working then. Nice to now hire the neighborhood kid to shovel as I watch with a second cup of coffee in hand. :)

Right you are, Banjo man. Here we have the world's greatest neighbor, Chad Solheid, who fires up his snow-blower and clears our drive and walk. We reward him with hot chocolate and an occasional cookie, far less than his good deed deserves.

And Chad refuses any monetary reward!

C’mon now Dick…. if you Packers folks can sit out there and watch a three hour football game in zero-degree weather are you telling me a little snow on the golf course is going to keep you in the bed hiding under the covers? Granted you certainly may have to attach a string somehow or another to the golf ball, but sometimes in life you just have to make those little adjustments and move on. :D

Right, Alan, those Green Bay people are tough. Years back when I lived there we considered days like those experienced here recently good times to choose up sides and play a little football.

We had six inches of 'partly cloudy' last night here in Ohio.

My daughter sent us text photos yesterday of Chicago and I have to say we haven't seen that MUCH snow in a long time. Thank goodness their friend has a snow blower.

Kay,a weather reporter said today SW Michigan hasn't had this much snow for 20 years.
